Impact of Technology on Art
Technology has impacted art and opened many opportunities for content creators and artists. It did not only change how artists perform but also how we perceive art (Boitel, 2019). According to the Pew Research survey (Pew Research, 2013), the internet and social media have "increased engagement" and made art a more participatory experience.
Technology influenced art in different aspects. One and arguably most important is new creation techniques. New digital tools and software give artists a wide range of possibilities to express themselves. Digital painting, 3D modeling, and graphic design software are a few of them. Augmented and Virtual Reality are also other tools that have been possible with the emergence of new technology.
Accessibility, Collaboration, and Presentation have been influenced by technology considerably. As a result of modern technology, artists can share their work with a global audience, breaking geographical barriers. Through online communities such as forums, art-sharing websites, and social media, artists connect, collaborate, and receive feedback from peers and enthusiasts worldwide. On the other hand, it also brought challenges and ethical considerations, such as copyright and digital reproduction, which must be considered. Originality and authenticity are other concerns artists have.
